HAIR INDUSTRY CHALLENGES
The Malaysian haircare scene will need some changes and improvements especially in attracting more diverse customers base in terms of age, ethnicities and lifestyle choices. At R Beaute, our main customers are high-end hair salons across all of Malaysia. Currently, these are some of the biggest challenges in this industry:

1) Lack of Retail Product Sales in Salons:
Yes, customers come to Montibello salons to get their hair cut, styled or treated. But these salons are also a one-stop solution. Not only is our salon a place full of professional hairdressers but they are retails for the best hair products like Montibello, waiting to be brought home by you. Yes. Of course online shops are available BUT what makes purchasing our products in salons better is that you can get free consultation! Your hair and scalp will first be analyzed by professionals and they will advise the most suitable products for you.

2) Lack of Haircare Awareness (Customers opt for cheap OEM Products):
A lot of hair salon customers do not understand the harmful effects of using OEM products. OEM products are definitely cheap but they contain harsh chemicals, lack of testing on actual hair and scalp which can be the leading cause of hairloss, dandruff, allergics, scalp issues and even long-term effects like cancer. All Montibello products are natural, clean, vegan, harsh chemical free and dermatologically-tested.
CASE STUDY
We have decided to drive the change in this industry by organization this competition fronting one of our brands from Spain, Montibello to help improve the Malaysian hair industry. We hope with the involvement of younger generation (who we consider as the POWERFUL GENERATION), the future of our industry will be even more innovative, dynamic, and inclusive, driving forward new ideas and setting higher standards for excellence in haircare.
Students are required to come up with a creative marketing proposal consisting of 5 main ideas with the focus being on Montibello HOP Products to bring more youngsters to go to the hair salons and make product purchase with the requirements presented below for Montibello. Use your knowledge, be it fashion, marketing, cosmetology or design and give some ideas on how to provide challenges to the challenges. Work in your team and produce the following requirements. If shortlisted as the semifinalists, you will have to present your proposal to the judges during the finale on 9th January 2025.
